This week Smyra talks with the Liz Seidt, Caitlin Aase and Teagan Walsh-Davis, the three founding members of The Jades. The new storefront theatre company is dedicated to “lifting diverse, underrepresented voices and providing a platform for female-identified artists to thrive.” We discuss the company’s commitment to diverse casting, their personal struggles with internalized sexism and their premiere show, An Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in Mexico by Kate Tarker.

Tickets are on sale now for The Jades upcoming show, An Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in America runs Thurs-Fri at The Frontier. There will be no show on Friday November 4th. There will instead by an industry night on Monday November 7th. Jade Smash, The Jades’ staged reading series running Thursdays during the run of An Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in Mexico.
